I stand skin and bone against blanched skies.tree
I am shaken,
I am drenched then
I am frozen solid.
Some mock me,
Call me unloved.
But others say I am still beautiful.
It’s them I’m starting to believe.

But all this so soon after fertility, abundance and
the gifting of the most exquisite gown.
I was waltzed,
I was quenched then.
Warm, I meditated.
All praised me,
Called me beloved.
Until the pendant swung
And the insidious cycle continued…

Again:

I stand skin and bone against blanched skies.
I am shaken,
I am drenched then
I am frozen solid.
Some mock me,
Call me unloved
But,
I’m taller now and stronger.

And as long as I’m alive I’ll thrive,
As long as I’m alive, I am always beautiful.
